Peter Alford, 24, of Maxwell Road, was arrested and charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child on Wednesday, July 10, said Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, officers responded to a radio assignment for a burglary report on County Courthouse Road and discovered that Alford had allegedly been stealing money from his girlfriend’s roommate’s closet. He was arrested without incident, police said.
A further investigation discovered that Alford was allegedly in possession of multiple images and videos believed to be child pornography on his computer, police added.
The videos contained female children between the ages of 8 and 13 performing sexual acts, police said.
Alford was charged with five counts of possessing a sexual performance By a child, two counts of burglary two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, grand larceny, and possession of stolen property.
He will be arraigned on Thursday, July 11.
